AP Teachers

Key Benefits

Centro MundoLengua is the only school in Spain and outside of the United States recognized by the College Board to impart this course. We have successfully been organizing programs for teachers since 2006.

Where else can you receive AP training with the culture of Spain at your doorstep? Live the culture through our activities – visit the Cathedral of Seville, the Royal Palaces in Seville and Madrid, the Prado, the Reina Sofia, the parks, plazas, flamenco, bullfights, cafes, bodegas, etc. The list of cultural possibilities is endless!

We are fortunate to count on some of the best instructors from the College Board with years of experience. Ken Stewart from Chapel Hill HS has collaborated with us since the beginning. We have also worked with Laura Zinke from AZ, Maria Vazquez from NJ, and Sue Stites from NC.

For teachers that travel with at least 6 students (in our Seville program), they receive the AP program free. For teachers that travel with at least 10 students, they receive both the program free and stipend of $800.

Our program provides an excellent opportunity to socialize and network, making lifetime friendships with teachers from all across the US, as well as many international schools. How does a flamenco concert, followed by tapas and wine after class with your new colleagues sound?

AP Teacher Testimonials

“The highlight of the Centro MundoLengua experience is the people. No program is truly great without exceptional people. From the personal attention given to us by the administrative staff in helping us get organized before the trip and making sure our needs were met during the trip, to the passion and experience our teachers shared with us, every single person we crossed paths with at Centro MundoLengua was exceptional!” Maylén R, Gateway High School.

“I was about to write to you to tell you that you and your staff made my stay in Seville a great time. I really appreciate your professionalism since the first day I talked to you about a possible spot in your program. I met wonderful people. Ken and Maria Jose did an excellent job, and I am now daydreaming about coming back soon.” Maria M., Johns Creek HS.

“The magic of Centro MundoLengua is the layering of on-site, hands on, cultural experiences with excellent class instruction. Classroom and cultural experiences are all facilitated by highly qualified educators, at the Masters or Doctorate level, with a deep passion for their area of instruction. We had the option to be immersed in learning continuously from the moment the experience began. I found the two weeks to be immensely enriching as an educator and as a person who loves to learn.” Catharine S., Brophy College Preparatory.

“Spending two weeks in Sevilla with the MundoLengua program is any Spanish teacher’s dream come true. They offer an exceptional College Board approved program that inspires teachers and allows them not only to learn from very well-known experts in the AP Spanish community, but also to share ideas and strategies with other colleagues. On top of this, teachers are also able to be fully immersed by living with host families and interacting with them. They also go on daily excursions that are very meaningful and give a unique perspective of the Spanish culture, thanks to the amazing and very knowledgeable tour guide they have. All this combined, makes this a memorable experience that I recommend to any Spanish teacher. ¡Una maravilla en Sevilla!” Marta C., Barrington HS.

“As a 2nd year participant in the Centro MundoLengua Sevilla program, I feel I have credibility when I say to AP Spanish teachers, You will return to class rejuvenated with a clear picture of teacher/student expectations of the AP exam, as well as a plethora of information for lesson plans connecting grammar, audio, speaking, and reading THROUGH culture. The students I accompanied completed their courses at Centro MundoLengua and now feel confident to continue their Spanish classes from honor to AP. Traveling is truly an unforgettable education! I speak from my heart when I say, You will have a positive experience.” Cathy C., Marist High School.

“As a winner of this scholarship from SWCOLT, I want to say…don’t even hesitate!!!! I chose to stay with a family that lived in Triana, which was very lively with the EuroCup competition in progress. There were many activities with connections with the Literature and the authors from the AP Literature & Culture course. Our literature teacher was outstanding and very informed about the new test. She gave us loads of downloads and very useful information and teaching strategies. I want to thank SWCOLT for the opportunity to enjoy this once in a lifetime visit and study experience. My best advice to all of you is—“Go for it!” Carol M., Santa Maria Joint Union High School District.
